Crevalcore

Crevalcore

There is an air of rivalry between chefs down in the city because Crevalcore is located between the provinces of Modena and Bologna and, therefore, is in the condition of having a cuisine that is very contaminated by the two culinary cultures. Within the porticoed historical centre, closed between two doors, it is worth stopping by the Municipal Theatre (presently inaccessible), which since 1881 still preserves within its premises the original curtain made by Raffaele Faccioli. A few kilometres from the chief town, we find a real discovery: the Tanks of the former sugar factory, a marshy environment that has become rare in the cultivated plain. It consists of 65 hectares of the former sugar factory closed in the 1980s with its settling tanks.
