Anzola dell’Emilia

Anzola dell'Emilia

The territory of Anzola, crossed by the Samoggia river and included between the Reno and Panaro rivers, has a very ancient history marked by the close relationship with the water that has always represented the greatest wealth and, at the same time, the most frightening threat for these lands. This is also testified by the findings, kept in the museum, of the remains of a “terramara”, a Bronze Age village typical of central-western Emilia. From medieval times, Anzola preserves some parts of one of the oldest parish churches in the province: the church of Saints Peter and Paul and the Tower of Re Renzo, dated XIII century.
