Camposanto

Camposanto

It stands on the left bank of the Panaro river, overlooked by splendid manor houses dating back to the 18th century. The history of its inhabited area originates between the 14th and 15th century and is linked to that of the river which, around the 1300s, was diverted to the Canale Naviglio (Naviglio Canal) near Bomporto, to solve the problem of its frequent flooding. The railway station on the new Bologna-Verona line is curiously positioned on the bridge that crosses the river. But it is by pushing yourself inside the town, starting from the railway pylons, that you can admire over 20 murals, created in recent years thanks to the *Quadricromie* project. A real open-air museum.
