Calderara di Reno
Lying on the left bank of the Reno River, its territory shows its agricultural and industrial soul. Its history is very old, as its name: from “calidus”, perhaps linked to the mildness of the climate or the presence of hot springs, or from “caldera”, because of the widespread trade of the boilermaker.
Today Calderara is home to a Fab Lab, the “Italo Calvino” Casa della Cultura, as well as numerous green areas and a large Skatepark. The hamlet of Sacerno, the so-called “Mezzomondo”, is recognized by some historians as the place where Ottaviano Augusto, Marco Antonio and Marco Emilio Lepido met in 43 B.C. to divide up the Roman world, giving life to the second Triumvirate.
