Mirandola
Church of Santa Maria Maggiore
The Late Gothic Duomo (cathedral) with its baroque altar
After the 15th century restorations, only the sides and the apses remain from the original late-Gothic layout. The 48-meter bell tower and the baroque altar in the Chapel of Madonna di Pompei, made of
gilded wood by the Mirandola school, date back to the 17th century.
