Botanical Garden “La Pica” – San Felice sul Panaro

A botanical garden of 21,000 square meters located between the municipalities of Mirandola, San Felice, and Medolla in the province of Modena, featuring a rich collection of herbaceous, shrub, and tree plants.

The Ecological Restoration Area “Vasche Ex Zuccherificio” (former sugar refinery) – Crevalcore

An Ecological Restoration Area, which includes the settling tanks of the old sugar refinery closed in 1985. A privileged place for the observation of numerous wild species, some of which are rare.

Tivoli-Manzolino Tanks

In the disused tanks formerly used for goldfish farming, a regional significant nature oasis has emerged, representing a virtuous example of land reclamation. The area encompasses a total surface of 326 hectares, including 12 hectares of forest, 6,500 meters of canals, and 34 hectares of embankments and permanent grasslands.

“La Bora” – San Giovanni in Persiceto

Established in 1990 as a protected area, it is now a habitat for numerous species of birds and amphibians. Comprising a wetland area and a woodland area, various environmental conservation projects can be found here, such as the one dedicated to the European Pond Turtle.

Water draining plant at Bagnetto – Sala Bolognese

One of the main land reclamation and hydraulic works of these areas, once marshy. The construction has features similar to those of a medieval fortress.

Dosolo Detention Basin – Sala Bolognese

In this Ecological Rebalancing Area there are woods with a variety of species of trees and a lake that is excellent for birdwatching from special hideouts.

Golena San Vitale (San Vitale Floodplain) – Calderara di Reno

A 30-hectare Ecological Balance Area characterized by a splendid floodplain forest along the Reno River, on the outskirts of Bologna.
