Castelcrescente Villa
Castelcrescente Villa
This Art Nouveau building, set within a centuries-old park, was erected by Marquis Aldobrandino Rangoni between the late 19th and early 20th centuries to commemorate Castel Crescente, an ancient Rangoni fief. Architecturally, it showcases Tuscan Renaissance style, featuring three sections that articulate across different levels and connect the entire structure to the surrounding park through delightful views and loggias. With this construction, in which he held court every Thursday, the marquis aimed to remember the main milestones of the local Rangoni splendor, such as the erection of the fortified palace near the church of Ravarino and the investiture of the County of Ravarino and Castel Crescente, granted to the Rangoni by Duke Borso d’Este on September 9, 1453.
